Just Me, You and THE SILENCE received a well-attended public reading as part of the of the 2014 World Pride Celebrations produced by IFT Theatre in collaboration with Buddies at Bad Times and Obsidian Theatre Company.
The Anti-Homosexuality Bill looms and a family's life is changed forever in this satirical comedy that explores events that unfolded around the 2009 Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Bill.
The public reading was followed by a talk-back session on the topic, African storytelling and the place of LGBTI people’s stories in it. It was moderated by d’bi young, a Jamaican-Canadian dub poet and mono dramatist with the playwright ADONG Lucy Judith and Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainaina, who came out publicly as gay in April of 2014.
